The fallen leaf does not return as a leaf. It transforms into soil.

The old tree does not come back as wood. It becomes habitat.

Decay is not the end. It is transformation.

Joseph Schumpeter called it creative destruction — the process through which old structures dissolve so new ones can emerge. Thomas Kuhn described paradigm shifts — moments when the framework itself reorganizes reality.

Technology behaves the same way.

It does not repeat. It reconfigures.

Commerce is in one of those transformations now.

Page-based storefronts are giving way to protocol-driven systems. Search bars are becoming prompts. Product pages are becoming structured knowledge objects interpreted by agents.

The mechanisms are changing.

And yet one thing remains unmistakably human:

The creative impulse.

AI can reason across patterns. It can execute transactions. It can optimize discovery.

But it does not originate intention.

The mechanism evolves. The intention remains human.

I’m Aleksey.

I’ve spent more than 25 years as a founder and systems architect building commerce infrastructure across industries and regulatory environments. I’ve designed multi-tenant SaaS systems under GDPR and HIPAA constraints, architected global ecommerce integrations, and worked at the edge of AI-driven platforms.

Across every chapter, I’ve seen the same principle play out:

Small, well-placed technology creates disproportionate impact.

A schema change reshapes discoverability. An API opens an entirely new distribution channel. A structured data model determines whether a brand is visible in an agent-mediated world.

Simple architecture. Massive impact.

CTO.LA exists at the intersection of that transformation.

It is where I explore how traditional commerce evolves into agentic commerce — not as hype, but as infrastructure.

How structured data becomes competitive advantage. How APIs become storefronts. How compliance becomes architectural strength. How AI amplifies human creativity rather than replacing it.

Technology transforms. Commerce transforms.

But the direction of that transformation is still shaped by human intention.

The question isn’t whether change is coming.

It’s what we choose to build within it.

Let's talk at CTO.LA.
